cumberland plateau...
...snow advisory late tonight and monday morning for much of the
cumberland plateau...

.an upper level low pressure system and cold front will move
southeast across middle tennessee tonight and monday morning. patches
of light snow will move across the region. the snow will be enhanced
b the higher terrain of the cumberland plateau.

based on evening radar and observations of this system...most of
middle tennessee will have less than one half inch of snow.
therefore...the snow advisory has been cancelled for middle
tennessee...west of the plateau.

locations along the cumberland plateau could have one or two inches
of new snow late tonight into monday morning...so the snow advisory
will remain in effect for the plateau.

even for areas where the advisory has been cancelled...some slippery
conditions may develop late tonight as temperatures dip below
freezing. the most likely locations for slick travel will be
at higher elevations and on bridges and overpasses. snow that
melted on roadways sunday along the cumberland plateau will likely
refreeze later tonight and add additional travel problems for
motorists.
