Just as a reminder to all, I'll be your "hidden Transmitter" this evening,
starting at 6:30pm. This will be a mobile style hunt (take a reading, get
in your car, drive, stop and take another reading, etc.) and will begin
from the Old Andersons Parking Lot at the NW corner or Talmadge and Monroe
in Toledo.

*What to expect:*
1. I will be "not so hidden" and transmitting from *somewhere in Lucas
County*. If you find your way into Monroe, Fulton, Wood, etc., you have
gone too far. :)

2. I'll be starting from a mobile radio on a gain antenna running about 50
watts and will be transmitting with roughly 45seconds on and 1minute off
intervals. This hunt will occur on the input of the 147.27 repeater (so
listen for me on the input). This way, if you are wondering if I'm still
transmitting, just switch over to the repeater output. :)

3. After about 1 hour, I'll be switching my power to 20 watts. After 1.5
hours, I'll be switching to about 7 watts.

4. This is a no person left behind activity. Therefore, I'll start giving
some general clues after the first 1.5 hours, and more pointed clues (or
general info on my location) after 2 hours (in order to make sure we have
some time to share our stories together before we call it a night).

5. I intend to unlink the 442.850 repeater during this activity, so feel
free to chat on it separately throughout the hunt. I will re-link them
after the hunt.

Don't hesitate to listen along to learn a little about transmitter hunting
if you cannot attend/participate, and feel free to use the repeater in
between my transmissions (just be sure to leave me room to transmit
again). Remember that you can do this with only a hand-held radio by
putting your body in between the transmitter and the signal (the signal
will dip when your body is in the way and we call that "body shielding").

This is about the fun, not the win, so give it a try!
