From mlacumsky at amplex.net Mon Feb 3 00:06:40 2020 From: mlacumsky at amplex.net (Michael Lacumsky) Date: Mon, 3 Feb 2020 00:06:40 -0500 Subject: [TMRA] Hamfest volunteers are needed Message-ID: Greetings All: The ARRL Great Lakes Convention and TMRA Hamfest are fast approaching. The Hamfest Committee is in need of help on both Saturday March 14 for Hamfest setup and vendor move in, as well as Sunday March 15 for checking tickets at the gate, runners, ticket sales, and tear down. If you are interested in helping in any capacity, you must be a club member prior to the date you are volunteering. Contact Bruce AA8HS to take care of any membership needs. Those who volunteer for one hour or more at the Hamfest in any capacity will be provided with a meal ticket. Please email hamfest at tmrahamradio.org to volunteer. For information relating to volunteering at the ARRL Great Lakes Convention please contact Rob KV8P or email glc at tmrahamradio.org Thanks and 73 Mike W8MAL TMRA Hamfest Chairman -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This is spam and should be deleted. (Don't click on a link to "see more" or "learn more", or you may indeed get a computer virus or worse that you then have to deal with.....) The more our club does with public outreach and on social media (made worse by our recent outreach with the convention upcoming), the more open we are to "pfishing attacks" such as this, (where someone sends text or emails posing as one of your club officers). Unfortunately, it is VERY easy for the "bad guys" to pose as either myself or our club treasurer to our club emails and/or phone numbers (that we also have posted on the internet), asking you to "click here" and/or "spend money". Please be careful and know that these requests are VERY UNCOMMON from us. Be sure to check any "hyperlink" before you click one (from anyone in the club) to see where they are really trying to "send you". When in doubt, "don't click it", go directly from our tmrahamradio.org website, or ask us directly whether it is legit. That will keep us "out of trouble". Thanks everyone, Rob (KV8P) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... REMINDER: As is the case for all club events, *if there is ANY level of snow emergency as of 2 hours prior to start time (5pm, for the 7pm general meeting tomorrow), the meeting would automatically be cancelled.* Also, please know that we have been known to "get ahead of that", and call off meetings ourselves (based on our own review of worsening road conditions as we make our way around earlier in the day). *You can watch and listen for quick updates at the following locations:* 1. Your email (via this same email list) 2. TMRA page on Facebook 3. Announcements (every 15-20 mins generally) on the 147.27 repeater. Assuming our meeting moves forward as planned tomorrow night, we do plan to move directly to the general meeting at 7pm (no presentation planned), so we should be getting out earlier than usual (which may help get ahead of the worst weather). As a reminder, we do plan to vote for filling the new Bursar role at the meeting. 73, Rob Hall - KV8P TMRA President kv8p at kv8p.com -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
