Happy New Year

Welcome 2019 and the beginning of another great Ham Radio year for the members of the TMRA. This Year the TMRA will concentrate on Amateur Radio in Public Service. 

Id also like to take this occasion to post the Clubs Mission Statement.
To be recognized by the citizens of the Toledo area as the leader in providing support services to the community through amateur radio.

THE JANUARY GENERAL MEETING IS WEDNESDAY JAN 9TH AT 7 PM. This Months Presentation will be by Paul English (NETCOM G3/5 CUOPS ATSO HF/LMR) with Army MARS (Military Auxiliary Radio System).  The Army MARS program is a civilian auxiliary consisting primarily of licensed amateur radio operators who are interested in assisting the military with communications on a local, national, and international basis as an adjunct to normal communications.  

HAMFEST COMMITTEE MEETING
There will be a Hamfest Committee Meeting held on Wednesday before the General Meeting. The Committee will meet in the Meeting Hall at 6pm.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT

Have you attended a Committee Meeting? You should. There is a whole lot of Club Business that is handled in the Committee Meetings. If you want to be a pert of the clubs Operation be sure to participate at the Tech Committee and the Executive Committee. Information on their Schedules is listed below.

The TMRA is looking for Members who are interested in sitting on the Auditing Committee. The Committee will meet sometime in the Winter and conduct an Audit of the Clubs Activities. This is an Important function to assure the club is functioning in accordance with its By-Laws. If you would like to participate contact Rob / KV8P. kv8p at kv8p.com

The Silent Auction will be returning to Hamfest in 2019. The Auction Organizer has already begun to gather donations for the Auction. This year, the Money Raised will go to the completion of the Yaesu FT450D Station. This will include a Power Supply and Antenna Tuner.  We were able to purchase this Station with the proceeds of last years auction. Keep an eye on this section for future News, including Items that will be offered. If you have Items that you would like to donate for the Auction, please contact Toby / KE8CZO. All Proceeds from this Auction go to purchasing Equipment for Club Member use.

LUCAS COUNTY A.R.E.S

The TMRA would like to acknowledge the Retirement of our Friend Skeet/KD8KXD from his position as Lucas County ARES E.C.
Skeet retired on December 31rst 2018. Fine Business Skeet and a Job well done.

Your New Lucas County ARES E.C. is Tim Gray/KD8IZU. Congratulations to Tim on his new Position.

The next ARES meeting will be SATURDAY JANUARY  24TH   AT 09:00 

The meeting will be held at 
St.Lukes Hospital in the private Basement Dining Room.
Come out early and join us for Breakfast in the Cafeteria.

The next new Truck Committee Meeting will be held on Saturday Jan 12th at 10:00 am.  The meeting will be held at the 911 Training Center at 2127 west Jefferson Ave, Toledo Ohio

LUCAS COUNTY ARES INC, is taking nominations for positions on its Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees of Lucas County Ares Inc, controls the Finances of Lucas County ARES, and has 8 total members as well as the County EC. Every 2 years, half of the Board is up for election.
At the November ARES Meeting (Saturday November 28th) The President of LCARES INC. opens the Nomination Process. The Nomination process goes on until the January Meeting were Nominations from the floor will be accepted. AT the January ARES Meeting (scheduled for Saturday January 26th at 0900 am at St.Lukes Hospital) The members of Lucas County Ares will then vote to elect 4 candidates to the Board. During the Nomination period, any member in good standing of Lucas County Ares may place their name into Nomination.

 ARES IN BRIEF NET  on Sunday Nights at 1930 on the 147.270 Repeater. All are welcome to check in.

NEWCOMERS AND ELMERS NET (see note #1 below)

Are you new to Ham Radio, or so you just feel inexperienced, perhaps  you just have a question that you need answered?
Be sure to tune into the TMRA Newcomers and Elmers net each Sunday night at 8pm. This Net follows the ARES in brief Net on the 147.270 Repeater. 
 Net Control Stations for the Newcomers and Elmers Net are needed. If you would like to take the Net and try your hand at Net Control, or if you have a topic to suggest for the Net, get ahold of Dave / KD8EVN

DIGITAL SOUNDCARD NET
Are you interested in learning more about Digital Modes? Well then be sure to check into the FLDIGI Net every Tuesday Night at 1930 on the 147.270 repeater. All are welcome and New Operators are encouraged to check in and get up to speed on FLDIGI and MMSSTV. Its informative and a lot of fun.

 6 METER NETS
DAN / KE8UE

Dan KE8UE, has asked me to list his weekly 6 Meter Nets. Dan runs 2 informal roundtable nets every week on the 6 Meter Band.
The first is  a repeater based net on Monday Nights on the TMRA 6 Meter Repeater. 
The Second is an  SSB based net on Thursday Nights on 6 meter SSB. 
Everyone is welcomed to check into these social Nets.

Mondays at 9pm. Roundtable Net on  53.110 with a negative 1 Mhz offset (W8HHF Repeater)THIS NET IS CURENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO REPEATER ISSUES. MORE INFO TO FOLLOW

Thursday at 9pm. Roundtable Net on 50.255 USB 

Dan also advises that on the Second Monday of every Month he needs a Net Control Operator for this net.

ALL RADIO AMATEURS ARE WELCOMED TO CHECK INTO ANY TMRA NET.
