It appears to be working quite well so far. Improvements with the installation of this repeater include: 1. Increase back to 100 watts of output power (Icom repeater was running less than 20 watts) 2. The Motorola repeater seems to have "fuller" audio than the old repeater (which we had hoped) 3. The Motorola repeater has a built-in pre-selector, which is used to remove and prevent other strong local out of band signals from desensitizing the receiver. 4. The Motorola repeater also includes a "circulator" internal to the power amplifier (as does the 147.27 repeater) that helps protect other receivers on the site as well as to protect the transmitter in the event of antenna failure. (fail safe) Initial reports are quite promising. While we may still make a few audio adjustments going forward, the initial reports on audio and sensitivity have been good (so, we'll leave it where it is, at least for now). Let us know what you think! Any/all reports are welcome. As with our 6 meter repeater, Rich (KQ6EF) did most of the "heavy lifting" with bringing this 442.850 repeater together and getting it working. Please be sure to thank Rich for his work when you talk to him!
