I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving..

THE NEW TECHS HAVE RECEIVED THEIR CALL-SIGNS. KE8KX? BE SURE TO LISTEN FOR THEM ON THE REPEATER AND MAKE SURE YOU SAY HELLO!!!!  CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR NEWLY LICENSED HAMS!!! HOPE TO HEAR YOU ALL ON THE AIR VERY SOON.


We have just a few Club related events remaining for 2019. There will be an Executive Board Meeting this week. This meeting is open to club Members in good standing and invited guests of the committee only.

The Holiday Party is coming up next Month. There is still plenty to be done as we approach the date. See the Section below for more information.

THE TMRA HOLIDAY PARTY

Every year the TMRA holds its annual Holiday Party. The Party replaces the December Meeting. We all Gather, socialize and eat. We remember the year past and look forward to the coming year. 
This Year the Party is being Hosted by Tom / KD8WCD. Tom needs some help. So if you can lend a hand, please do.  
Last year, we added some drawings and giveaways to the festivities. There were several Radio and non-Radio related items donated by Club Members. This included the Grand Prize which was an Alinco Handi-Talkie. Well, Tom is happy to announce that the drawings are returning. We already have several Items that have been Donated including another Alinco Handi- Talkie. If you would like to donate an Item or help in covering the cost of some of these items,  please contact Tom / KD8WCD or Rob / KV8P.
 
You and your entire Family are welcome to attend. As is true with any TMRA Public Event, the Public as well as new Hams are welcome. 
It’s a POT-LUCK, so bring a Dish to pass. The TMRA will Provide some Items, these include Soda and Coffee as well as the Plates and Cups,  Napkins, Plastic Wear and of course the Decorations.  The Members, well we provide the FOOD, and its always GOOD STUFF!!!!!

Setup will begin at 4 pm, the Doors will open at 5pm and the Party kicks off at 6pm.

Organizing this Party is a bunch of work, I would like to thank Tom on behalf of the entire TMRA for taking the lead and Hosting this years event.

There’s going to be a show and tell. Do you have a Radio Item that you wanna show off? Bring it! The entire Stage area will be set up with interesting Radio Related Items. 

Got a neat picture that Radio Related? How about a Picture of your Shack? How about one of anything Radio related that youd like to share. If you do, send it to me. Id like to put a nice slide show together that will be shown during the Party.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT


Have you attended a Committee Meeting? You should. There is a whole lot of Club Business that is handled in the Committee Meetings. If you want to be a pert of the clubs Operation be sure to participate at the Tech Committee and the Executive Committee. Information on their Schedules is listed below.

The TMRA is looking for Members who are interested in sitting on the Auditing Committee. The Committee will meet sometime in the Winter and conduct an Audit of the Clubs Activities. This is an Important function to assure the club is functioning in accordance with its By-Laws. If you would like to participate contact Rob / KV8P. kv8p at kv8p.com


The Silent Auction will be returning to Hamfest in 2019. The Auction Organizer has already begun to gather donations for the Auction. This year, the Money Raised will go to the completion of the Yaesu FT450D Station. This will include a Power Supply and Antenna Tuner.  We were able to purchase this Station with the proceeds of last years auction. Keep an eye on this section for future News, including Items that will be offered. If you have Items that you would like to donate for the Auction, please contact Toby / KE8CZO. All Proceeds from this Auction go to purchasing Equipment for Club Member use.

The next ARES meeting will be SATURDAY JANUARY  24TH   AT 09:00 

The meeting will be held at 
St.Lukes Hospital in the private Basement Dining Room.
Come out early and join us for Breakfast in the Cafeteria.

LUCAS COUNTY ARES IS SEEKING A CANDIDATE TO TAKE ON THE ROLE OF EMERGENCY COORDINATOR
 Skeet / kd8kxd has decided to retire and we need a successor to take over and continue with the excellent work Skeet has done. If you are interested in becoming the New Lucas County ARES E.C. Please contact Brent / WD8PNZ to place your name into consideration. Brent is the Ohio District 1 E.C.

LUCAS COUNTY ARES INC, is taking nominations for positions on its Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees of Lucas County Ares Inc, controls the Finances of Lucas County ARES, and has 8 total members as well as the County EC. Every 2 years, half of the Board is up for election.
 At the November ARES Meeting (held yesterday Saturday November 2th) The President of LCARES INC. opens the Nomination Process. The Nomination process goes on until the January Meeting were Nominations from the floor will be accepted. AT the January ARES Meeting (scheduled for Saturday January 26th at 0900 am at St.Lukes Hospital) The members of Lucas County Ares will then vote to elect 4 candidates to the Board. During the Nomination period, any member in good standing of Lucas County Ares may place their name into Nomination.
 If you would like to be Nominated to serve a 2 Year Term as a member of the Board of Trustees of Lucas County Ares Inc. please contact Tim / KD8IZU

 ARES IN BRIEF NET  on Sunday Nights at 1930 on the 147.270 Repeater. All are welcome to check in.

NEWCOMERS AND ELMERS NET (see note #1 below)
 
Are you new to Ham Radio, or so you just feel inexperienced, perhaps  you just have a question that you need answered?
Be sure to tune into the TMRA Newcomers and Elmers net each Sunday night at 8pm. This Net follows the ARES in brief Net on the 147.270 Repeater. 
 Net Control Stations for the Newcomers and Elmers Net are needed. If you would like to take the Net and try your hand at Net Control, or if you have a topic to suggest for the Net, get ahold of Dave / KD8EVN

Are you interested in learning more about Digital Modes? Well then be sure to check into the FLDIGI Net every Tuesday Night at 1930 on the 147.270 repeater. All are welcome and New Operators are encouraged to check in and get up to speed on FLDIGI and MMSSTV. Its informative and a lot of fun.

Dan KE8UE, has asked me to list his weekly 6 Meter Nets. Dan runs 2 informal roundtable nets every week on the 6 Meter Band.
The first is  a repeater based net on Monday Nights on the TMRA 6 Meter Repeater. 
The Second is an  SSB based net on Thursday Nights on 6 meter SSB. 
Everyone is welcomed to check into these social Nets.
 
Mondays at 9pm. Roundtable Net on  53.110 with a negative 1 Mhz offset (W8HHF Repeater)THIS NET IS CURENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO REPEATER ISSUES. MORE INFO TO FOLLOW

Thursday at 9pm. Roundtable Net on 50.255 USB 
 
Dan also advises that on the Second Monday of every Month he needs a Net Control Operator for this net.
