(see below for those that have not yet responded) Please take the survey, or email me if you can help. Thanks! TMRA is looking for members to assist with the next 147.27 antenna lift on Saturday, June 9th. This will be our next attempt at the lift, utilizing our learnings from the April 18th session. Please let Rob (KV8P) know if the day would work for you by completing the following quick survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/32TKJLL We found ourselves just a little bit short on needed number of people for the attempt at lifting the antenna. Therefore, we are providing some additional time for folks to plan for this particular scheduled date (which may also afford us time to plan the 224.14 mounting). Even if you can only donate time for the 147.27 antenna pull-up itself, or to man a "tag-line", we will take it! More on that planning once we firm up the date, but the efforts will likely start at 7:30am and the pull is expected to occur around 10am. (please note the time change in anticipation of growing winds as the day goes on) Feel free to comment on your availability via the survey above, email to Rob (KV8P) at kv8p at kv8p.com, or call Rob at (419)345-5759 with your availability for the date. The Antenna, a Tape Measure Yagi (2 Meter) is both effective and inexpensive to build. Used primarily for Fox Hunting this antenna can also be effective as a low power transmit antenna. The build will take place at the TMRA July 2018 Business Meeting. Rob has priced the kits and has offered two options. The Kits will include all parts needed to build the Antenna and the club will provide an analyzer to match and tune the completed projects. ?The price will be based on a minimum number of kits ordered. The antennas kits will be priced as follows Standard Kit = $20.00 Standard Kit plus Offset Attenuator = $ 70.00 Orders for the kits will need to be placed on or before the June General Business Meeting to assure pricing and allow ample time for shipping. Note : The offset Attenuator is not necessary to use this Antenna effectively, it also limits this Antenna to a receive Antenna only, as you cannot transmit through the Attenuator. ?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ? The build will take place at the TMRA July 2018 Business Meeting. Rob has priced the kits and has offered two options. The Kits will include all parts needed to build the Antenna and the club will provide an analyzer to match and tune the completed projects. ?The price will be based on a minimum number of kits ordered. The antennas kits will be priced as follows Standard Kit = $20.00 Standard Kit plus Offset Attenuator = $ 70.00 Orders for the kits will need to be placed on or before the June General Business Meeting to assure pricing and allow ample time for shipping. This will be our next attempt at the lift, utilizing our learnings from the April 18th session. Please let Rob (KV8P) know if you can help. The following weekend (Friday or Saturday) would be the alternate date. We found ourselves just a little bit short on needed number of people for the last pull. Therefore, we are providing some additional time for folks to plan for this particular scheduled date (which may also afford us time to plan the 224.14 mounting). Even if you can only donate time for the 147.27 antenna pull-up itself, or to man a "tag-line", we will take it! The 53.110 Repeater is experiencing some digital noise on the input this evening,(which sounds like some strong mixing continuous intermod from something local to the repeater). Therefore, the repeater will remain off the air at least for this weekend, until we can get back to it and troubleshoot the issue after the Holiday. We apologize for any inconvenience. BRADLEY F. The interesting thing is that the repeater, at the height it is at (antenna at about 380'), started hearing the digital signal DX well before the rest of us noticed that the 6 meter band was starting to open up with sporadic E propagation on Friday evening. I did get reports shortly afterwards from Tony (N8WAC) that the 6m band had indeed opened and that he was starting to hear the digital signal that the repeater was hearing. (that is good news) :) I'd like to thank Tony for his troubleshooting help and for his reports! Everyone, please do let us know if you hear the repeater locking up like that in the future again so that we can address it. We do have plans to activate the PL tone in the near future as well, which should alleviate some interference like that. 73, Rob - KV8P - on behalf of the TMRA Technical Committee *tech at tmrahamradio.org * -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Therefore, until the band closes up or we get the PL receive enabled, the repeater will be left off. Sorry for any inconvenience.
