The following is a formal announcement that nominations are open for positions of Trustees on the Board of LCARES, Inc   Please post this notice on any lists you have available.  KA9IVY
 
LCARES, Inc. is the legal corporate arm of Lucas County ARES.  It holds property, seeks grants, and enters contracts to support the work of Lucas County ARES.  LCARES, Inc. is incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio.
 
The Board is composed of 9 members.
 
The Lucas County Emergency Coordinator (Lowell “ Skeet” Kern - KD8KXD) is an ex-officio member.
 
The Class of 2018 is:
Richard Brownlee, KA9IVY: President
Brian Harrington, WD8MXR: Treasurer
Brent Stover, WD8PNZ: Statutory Agent
Rick Sharpe, K8RKS,
 
  The Class of 2019 is:
Tom Szuba, K8XXA: 2019:  Vice-President
Tim Gray, KD8IZU: 2019:  Secretary
Chuck Krukowski, KB8FXJ: 2019
Mike Farkas, N8GBU: 2019
 
 
The class of 2018 will complete their term when a new class of 2020 is elected.  Four trustees will be elected at the January meeting of Lucas County ARES, January 27, 2018.  Any qualified Amateur is eligible for nomination.
 
A qualified Amateur has a valid license as an Amateur Radio operator, is a registered member of Lucas County ARES, is 18 years old or older, and, should be prepared to meet any EmComm requirements needed for LCARES or LCARES, Inc. to be eligible for financial support. Under the terms of the ASPR FY-12 Grant at least 50% of the Trustees need to have ICS100, 200, and 700 training.
Current Trustees are eligible for re-election. 
 
The board meets at 8:00 a.m. prior to the Lucas County ARES meeting in February, April, July, and October, and when a special meeting is called according to the bylaws.  Person nominated should normally be able to attend the regular meetings.
 
Persons interested in serving can submit their name to Richard Brownlee, KA9IVY at ka9ivy at arrl.net, or 419-450-0466, or at my home, 3716 Mapleway Drive, Toledo, OH 43614 to have their names placed in nomination.  Nominations will be accepted from the floor, if the person nominated has agreed to serve and meets the requirements above.

I have decided, since I am going into full retirement sometime this year that it is time for me to step down.  I would like to do some travel, and spend some more time on the air.  I have enjoyed this opportunity to serve the Amateur Radio Community.
 
Nominations are still open, and nominations can be made from the floor, if the person nominated has agreed to accept the nomination, and meets the requirements above.
