*OVERVIEW OF THE LUCAS COUNTY HOSPITAL NET*
*10:00 AM OCTOBER 14^th 2017*
This net is normally held on the FIRST Saturday of the following months:
February, April, June, August, October, and December.
/_The primary purpose of this net:_/
Test the hospital equipment and to practice hospital communication
skills by familiarizing the operator with the radio and hospital
surroundings.
/_What we want to accomplish:_/
Establish and maintain communications with Net Control station by
checking signals on strategic repeaters and simplex frequencies. By
changing channels we encourage operators to be familiar with frequencies
for both simplex and local repeaters.
/_What this test does:_/
Allows us to meet our operating requirements for the radio equipment.
Builds operator familiarity with the hospital, radio operation, and
frequency usage.
*THIS IS AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT WE HOPE WILL OCCUR;*
/The goal of today’s net is: Take check-ins and then switch to the
S.E.T. program./
vNet control will call up the net at 10 am on the frequency of 147.270
FM (Ch.1), and first take check-ins from the hospitals and tactical
stations and then any additional stations.
vAfter check-ins are completed the net will switch to the ARES Simulated
Emergency Net (S.E.T.).
vKD8KXD will take over as net control.
_When giving signal reports please give one of three responses._

*Northwest Ohio ARES Hospital Net Script.*
ALL STATIONS, ALL STATIONS ALL STATIONS. This is the Northwest Ohio
A.R.E.S. Hospital Net. This is a formal and directed net. Stations
should first get permission from the net control station before calling
other stations or making announcements.
All Check-ins are welcome. You do not have to be in Lucas County, or
stationed in a hospital to participate in this net.
Stations operating from a hospital or other served agency should use the
Hospital or served agency name as a /_tactical call_/. (Remember to use
your amateur radio call for operator identification requirements.)
Hospital or Tactical stations should be prepared to act as a net control
station by keeping a log and maintaining a list of check-ins and check-outs.
Stations should check to make sure their radio is set to low power for
the start of the net, and increase power only if necessary.
When first checking into the net please give your call, and relay the
call signs of the other operators at your location.
This repeater will be the main frequency for this net. If the repeater
fails, stations should monitor this frequency for further instructions
from the net control station.
If the Net Control Station fails, the alternate net control shall assume
the net control duties.
Is there a station on frequency to act as Alternate Net Control?
Net control will now take check-ins from the Hospitals and tactical
stations located in and around Lucas County.
Hospital and tactical stations please copy along.
/To change the operating mode from FM to Digital Voice, Push the Tuning
knob in and hold until the screen changes to FM. Rotate the tuning knob
until DV is displayed. To change back simply repeat and change to FM./
