The TMRA 146.835(-) Fusion Repeater on Wires-X is now ready to install at
the downtown site after a few weeks of successful testing on 444.2125(+) in
Holland (where it is currently working as a low-profile system, linked to
America Link for digital C4FM use).
It seems, after some initial tweaks, that the repeater is now working well
on Wires-X in digital only mode and is quite reliable. We tentatively plan
to install the repeater in it's new home, downtown Toledo, on the evening
of Thursday, April 6th. Look for it to be live on Wires-X late that evening.
Initially, at least, the repeater will auto-link to the America Link room
where it is the busiest, however, users will be able to control it and
control/move the repeater to other rooms to use it where-ever they/you
would like. The repeater will reset to America Link nightly at 3am for the
time being. Feel free to control the repeater if you know how, and assuming
your radio supports Wires-X functionality and has the most current firmware
and DSP updates.
There may very well be a follow-on repeater antenna and amplifier upgrade
(the repeater will only be running 5 watts initially) over the weeks to
follow (after initial site testing is complete). However, we'll be looking
for reports starting on the 7th. If plans change at all, it will be posted
here and via the TMRA email list.
Also, going forward, we will be working to keep the repeater firmware up to
date to support the latest functions and features. Therefore, you will
want to keep your radios up to date as well. We will try to announce all
new radio firmware and DSP on this list (as we learn of them) and the TMRA
facebook page as well, to help users prepare, in the event of available
upgrades.
