For the history buffs out there... I had a chance to visit the Carnegie
Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA this weekend. This is home to the USS
Requin, a decommissioned submarine. On board is home to the NY3EC radio
club. They periodically operate from the subs radio room! Pretty neat.
On the TMRA website picture gallery I added 4 pics to the "Miscellaneous"
gallery, two of the radio room, and two of some artifacts from the sub...
including an old code book and morse key, as well as a note which reads:
"Did you know?
The Lionel Train Corporation made some of the radio equiment used on
submarines!"
Neat stuff.
