Hello all. This is just a short note to let you know that we will be doing
"local" digital mode demonstrations (using FLDigi) at this weekends TMRA
Field Day (Saturday for sure, unknown about Sunday, depends on if we're
asleep or not!). The plan is to use 440Mhz (FM) to avoid interference with
the other stations while contesting. Rod, KB8OTP, will also be setting up a
local low-power repeater on 440Mhz to demonstrate using digital through a
repeater.

We'll have a couple of stations there to do demos and let people play. You
are welcome to bring your own equipment to get set up/configured and/or join
in!!

Rod will also be doing demonstrations with ATV (Fast Scan TV), decoding NOAA
weather WEFAX charts via HF, and possibly attempting contacts with
satellites/the ISS.

The TMRA Field Day is open to everyone, club membership is not required and
-ALL- are welcome! This year I would like to place a special emphasis on
helping out newer hams and those who may be interested in becoming hams. I
would like for you to consider doing the same... if you're at Field Day and
you see anyone walking around who looks "lost" in the mix and/or confused at
the craziness to perhaps strike up a conversation with them. If for nothing
else than to perhaps help point them out to another club member who may know
more. If you don't know who to point them toward, send them over to Rod
(KB8OTP) or I (KJ0EYT) and we'll see what we can do!

And whatever you do, have a great field day!
de KJ0EYT
