Hee hee, maybe that's why you didn't get that far ;).  The microphone jack
on this Icom, unlike my other Yaesu 2M units, doesn't have sound out.  So,
you can either just use the audio out jack on the back, which is the
right-most stereo audio jack (of the four), or you can use the data socket.


On the data socket, I'm a little confused in the manual, it shows:

Pin 1 DATA IN (input)
Pin 2 GND
Pin 3 PTT
Pin 4 DATA OUT (output) - "Data out terminal for 9600bps operation only"
Pin 5 AF OUT (output) - "Data out terminal for 1200 bps operation only)"

So I guess I would assume you'd want pin 5 for anything but 9600 packet.
