Firstly, if anyone is seeking information on the Ohio QSO Party, you
may run across this website:  http://www.oqp.us  DO NOT USE THIS!  I
"studied" this site for about an hour, only to find it must have been
abandoned for http://ohqp.org/  ... or maybe it wasn't the right site
in the first place.  USE http://ohqp.org/ !!! I ended up finding this
site after going back and re-reading the newly released August issue
of the TMRA Beacon (
http://www.tmrahamradio.org/Newsletters/2010/Aug2010.pdf ).

Secondly, I've only got a few contests under my belt (the majority of
which are 2 years of Field Days with TMRA), so I may be asking dumb
questions. Feel free to ridicule me, but in doing so, at least
provide an answer :)

INFORMATION:

Ohio QSO Party Rules (PDF): http://ohqp.org/images/2010%20Rules.pdf

How-To:  http://ohqp.org/images/OHQP%20GUIDE_2010.pdf

***** While the www.oqp.us site indicated digital could be used the
ohqp.org site indicates it CAN NOT.  Only CW/SSB. *****

I don't see anything in the rules which indicates that a club that
wishes to participate must be located in one area (like the 1000'
Field Day rule).

In fact, the only thing I see in this entire document that relates to
clubs is thus:

"CLUB COMPETITION - Members' scores from Ohio stations will be
credited towards their Ohio club. A plaque will be awarded to the Ohio
club with the highest score. As the sponsoring club, the Mad River
Radio Club is excluded from this competition, although its members may
contribute their scores for other Ohio clubs to which they belong."

This is somewhat confusing to me.  I guess to me it makes it sound
like it's not advantageous to operate under the club call sign as then
you are limited to one contact with a given station per band/mode.
But if the members operate under their own call sign, then this would
be allowed?  The big advantage for operating under the club call would
be for the tech's to be able to operate HF in non-tech freqs.

What's to stop having a TMRA member in each of the 88 counties (or
twice or thrice... one for each mode), and just contacting each other
to get a massive club score?  :)

What am I missing here???
