Message-ID: Howdy, Partly in the interest of waking up the list, I thought I'd ask if there are any folks out there who have or have had a GPR-110 receiver?? TMC's last HF receiver, the GPR-110 was not a successful product and few were sold.? TMC actually bought some of them back from dissatisfied customers, so I wonder how many might still be in existence.? So far, I know of only one other.? I've been restoring a GPR-110C over the last couple of months and am nearing completion.? It's an interesting and somewhat unorthodox receiver which went through several substantial design changes (a few of them undocumented) over about an eight year period before TMC exited the HF receiver market around 1980. Same with the 1985-vintage MMX-4, TMC's last sideband exciter. The MMX-4 replaced the MMX-2 series as the exciter in late-model HFT-10K transmitters, and was also sold as a retrofit exciter for older TMC transmitters.? Unfortunately, like the GPR-110, relatively few were sold.? ?I overhauled an MMX-4 a while back--the only one I've ever seen--and like the GPR-110, it's an interesting design though not up to the performance standards of contemporaneous exciters.? Any others out there? These were economically difficult times for TMC, and incurring the expense of developing complex receiver and exciter designs like these?was audacious and heroic... 73, John K9WT From w2hx at w2hx.com Sun Oct 18 13:23:19 2026 From: w2hx at w2hx.com (W2HX) Date: Sun, 18 Oct 2026 17:23:19 +0000 Subject: [TMC] Anyone working with the TMC GPR-110 Receiver?
