Hello TMC lovers!

My VOX 3 is a mess, so I disassembled it in order to clean and lube all of
the mechanicals before bringing it up electrically. In the process I
removed the oscillator from the oven. Good thing I did because dried up
grease had made things pretty sticky and non-functional in there. The cam
follower mechanism was too gummed up to follow the cam anymore and the
little follower wheel was frozen among other minor things. I fixed all that
and now everything works smoothly.......and I do not believe I messed
anything up during the cleanup!

However, when I was removing the oscillator one of the four brass screws
that holds the oscillator in the aluminium casting galled on the way out. I
counted the thread pitch at 24 TPI and it looked like a 1/4 inch screw. I
did not have a 1/4-24 tap and die to chase the threads so I ordered one.
When it got here, I found that it was too big in diameter! I have a 10-24
tap and die and it was too small! I verified it is not an M6-1 thread. I am
stumped! What size are these mystery screws?!? I need to chase the threads
on the screw and clean the threads in the casting before reassembling
the oscillator.

Did I say I'm stumped?

Many thanks!

Chris
