A similar Northern Radio FSK unit with similar BS about converting to a
preamplifier was bid up to $600 or so.
We are not the only crazy people out there.

Multi-channel TTY over HF was a common thing back in the day. The Navy’s
AN/UCC-1 provided 16 TTY signals in an SSB voice channel. That’s 32 using a
TMC ISB transmitter.

The TTY channels were usually “twinned” as diversity pairs. Or you could
use four channels for quadruple diversity.
