[TMC] GPR-90

I am looking for someone with actual experience with the
GPR-90 and GPR-90RXD receivers. There is a review on the web of
the GPR-90 which complains that the BFO pulls on strong signals.
This is pretty rare in well designed receivers but I see that in
the RXD version the BFO has been redesigned and is coupled in a
different way. I wonder if pulling is the reason. The RXD has a
number of changes beyond making it more suitable for diversity
use suggesting that the original design needed some refining.
Particularly, the whole front end is different, the grounded grid
amp being replaced with a conventional pentode amp.
The GPR-90 is an intriguing receiver but gets mixed reviews.
I wonder about its performance in the hands of someone who
understands it and also has aligned it properly. I see all too
many reviews of receivers that are just bought used and fired up
with no attempt to make sure they are working properly. I have
enough experience with the SP-600-JX to think there are a lot of
them which are really broken but are still working leading some
some strange complaints. I think the GPR-90 was aimed at much the
same market but at a lower price. Also, does anyone run it with
one of the TMC SSB adapters, what comments on the combination?
