[TMC] FFR's

Andy,

Yes, there are a couple of things about the FFR radios that make them not so wonderful:

- they are one-frequency things - you find your station and leave it there.
- tuning around is not easy - the tuning system is crude.
- crystal control requires a different crystal for each desired frequency
- the selectivity may leave a lot to be desired - I don’t remember what bandwidth they have.
- they are sort of big and heavy
- the likely most desirable frequency to monitor (500 kc) works with a plug-in that is hard to find.

I *think* the radio I had here was lost in a disaster some time ago, so mine is no longer here.  I got mine for free by seeing it lying on the pavement at the local trash transfer station years ago.  I scoffed it up lickety split and never used it much.
