This is a Rotron, but after pulling the motor apart it was clear that 
the front bearing has a lot of wear, so replacemen bearings are on 
order.  Thanks for the pointers.

K9WT:  you may recall the previous owner reported that the filament 
meter was reading low.  Turns out the reason for that is the amp had 
been rewired for 240VAC!  The change was not noted anywhere and several 
steps were skipped so I'm putting it back to 120V.   The only issue I've 
run into is that instead of the "center tapped" main breaker shown on 
the schematic and that JP describes, this one has a regular two terminal 
Heinemann AM12 with a rating of "10A 250V / 15A 125V".   Since the 
terminals have the same brown thread-locker applied as is on all the 
rest of the hardware I assume this was a factory substitution and plan 
to try it as-is.
