[TMC] Historic TMC QSO

John (K9WT in FL) and I (K4NYW in NC) chatted a bit on 40m USB this morning
after the MMRCG net. We were each running an AN/FRT-70 transmitter which is
the SBT-1K version with an SBG synthesized sideband exciter. That means
about 150 tubes were working to make it happen.

When was the last time two tube-type synthesized TMC rigs worked each
other? 50 years ago??

John has been a great inspiration to my getting my xmtr going. Now I need
to hook up my DDR-5 so we can add some heavy metal TMC receivers to the fun!
