Hello folks,
I recently acquired a NOS/NIB Northern Radio "Dual Frequency Shift Tone Converter" Type 152 Model 2. It uses plug-in networks to determine its mark and space frequency combinations. The converter did not come with any plug ins. Luckily, I do have an original manual that catalogs the available; plug-ins and their parameters. Even if I could find some original plug ins (anyone have some?) it appears that they were only made in two shifts, 85 Hz and 240 Hz. For these two shifts, there are many mark and space frequency options.
I do have the general schematic of a plug in, and I have the component values for each of the 22 available plug ins, but I was wondering if anyone has ever made their own plug in with the 170Hz shift. Maybe I could use a spare ST6 board somehow for this purpose. This is a rather broad and long-shot of a request but for the cost of an email, I figure it will be worth it.
Thanks to K4NYW, I have an article about how to create a plug in and what values could be changed to accommodate other than 850 shifts. So I went to compare the 153 (keyer) and 152 (converter) plug ins. I did look at the plug in schematics for the type 153 (keyer) and compared it to the type 152 converter and they are not the same.
I do plan to scan the manual. And will send to jptronics/virhistory for posting.
