I ordered some xtals for the STE-1 and STE-5 from International crystal this morning. A fellow by the name of Mark Handly has been helping me out with getting the numbers straight over the past couple of days. The two i bought for the STE-1 and STE-5 are in the small new designation HC-48 and will fit into the small holders in the oven portion of the TTRT. A crystal for operation below 4 Mc for operation in a GPE or VOX, if you wanted a crystal controlled frequency would have run around $58. Mark was able to get a greatly reduced price on those that operated in that frequency range. If you are buying for an STE-* unit, be sure and indicate that the actual crystal resides in a sub assembly the TTRT which in a sense is a totally different unit. Don't forget that when you specify the frequency for the Xtal that in the case of the STE units, it is the operating frequency + 1.750 mc. While i didnt' ask for a standard tolerance i just stated i wanted .005 % which for AM operation is more than adequate.

I would suggest you call Mark Handly at 405-236-8956 if you need some for your TMC equipment. He did a lot of research and called me to discuss what he had found and what it was that i wanted before taking my order. I am totally satisfied with the service and price that he negotiated. I have no other interest in ICM other than to be a satisfied customer. I know the quality is there.
