[TMC] TMC CU-70 Directional Coupler Alignment Procedure???

Bruce,

The alignment procedure is shown in the manual for the SWR-1K. I recall
the procedure is the same for 50 and 70 ohm versions, except for
termination impedance and load voltage, and includes the procedure for
setting the equalizer and null capacitors, plus pots in the metering
circuitry external to the coupler. There's adequate service information
in the manual for you to deduce all that's needed for internal repair of
the coupler. I've repaired several of these couplers over the years,
and it's fairly simple, except for the aggravation of dealing with a few
components inconveniently haywired inside the tubular film-on-glass
resistor.

The CU-50 (the 50 ohm version) and the CU-70 are of identical configuration; the only difference is in the test and alignment procedure. Unfortunately, the TMC maintenance philosophy for the CU-50 and the CU-70 was they were factory-repairable only, and as such, and to the best of my knowledge, TMC never published the alignment information for these units in any of their technical manuals.
