Dear Fellow TMC Enthusiasts,

It appears that the original cabinets for the TMC ATS-2 MCU Monitor Control Unit, and the for the MSR-series of SSB converters (CV-591A, CV-1722, etc.) are now essentially nonexistent, and if I want them, I'll have to have them fabricated. Most of this equipment was sold for rack-mount applications, so it is understandable that the correct original TMC cabinets are quite scarce and hard to come by nowadays.

This being the case, I will be making an exact reproduction of TMC Model CAB-1 (this is the cabinet for the ATS-2 MCU), and the CAB-4 (this is the cabinet for the TMC MSR-series) for my own use, and hopefully for use by others.

The reproductions I am making will be fabricated by a precision sheet metal shop that I have used for most of my previous homebrew and electronics restoration projects, and will be an exact reproduction of the original in every detail. They will be fabricated from 0.050" THK steel, and painted the exact shade of TMC blue in the same oven bake enamel textured finish as the original. The four hard rubber/plastic feet at the bottom of each cabinet will not be included. These are standard items easily sourced from other channels.

The dimensions of each cabinet are as follows:

CAB-1: 20-3/8" W x 8-1/4" H x 8" D. Panel space: 7" x 19".

CAB-4: 20-3/8" W x 6-5/8" H x 18" D. Panel space: 5-1/4" x 19".

The estimated not-to-exceed price is $400.00 each, less shipping and handling costs. If the cost for similar work I have done previously is a good indicator, the price will be in this area.

I am looking to get an expression of interest from other TMC enthusiasts who may be looking for these items as described. I will only make one production run of the CAB-1 and the CAB-4, so please let me know how many of these reproduction cabinets you may be looking for ASAP. Payment terms would be 50% of the total required at time of order, with the balance due immediately prior to shipment. The estimated delivery date is mid-October, 2010.

If interested, please reply to my personal e-mail: triodes at optonline.net

Thanks & 73,

Bruce, W2XR
