I use two different search strings:
technical (material,materiel) (corp,corporation)
gets the items that are listed by folks who know what they're doing,
but may be slightly spelling-challenged.
I've been using:
tmc -(sony, tomtom, solder, soldering, marine, tiemco, phoenix, fly, traffic, rocky, hooks, hook, garmin, caller, tiffen, lens, tripp, cooler, ink, bumper, cordless, bilge, dvd, nakamura, battery, royaltek, phone, feature, midi, telephone)
to sort through the masses of crap that include the string "tmc",
surely the most popular combination of letters in the English language!
This string, which maxes out the "-" (exclude) function on ebay,
gets the number of hits down from well over 2000 to below 500, typically.
