I friend of mine who is much more technically inclined than i has kind of re-engineered my STE-1 unit. Made some improvements of which he said were quite simple to do but basically the unit is still 99% original. I need to order an xtal for it for 3870 Kc which i calculate to be 5.620 Mc.

This thing only has an RF bandwidth of 20 kc so i could go 10 kc either way without retuning it is the way i read it. The question is, what would be the xtal loading factor, is it a series or parallel type circuit and what is the type holder. The old xtals that were in the TTRT plugin modules were small which i thought were HC-6 but i don't see that number on the ICM web page. COuld it be thy are HC-17 or 49 types? 3/16 in pin spacing, the case is 1/2 inch tall and 3/8 inch wide. No details in either of the STE or TTRT manuals i have. This will drive my SBT-1K and i can put my GPE back in front of the PAL-500.

I have a 2nd STE-1 available if anyone is interested in it for $25 plus shipping. I'll throw in a couple of TTRT modules along with it as they are surplus to my needs.
