Gentlemen,
With reference to my message below of 9-8-09, I have located the panel I was looking for from a very kind donor and fellow GPT-750 enthusiast.
Thanks to all & 73,
Bruce, W2XR
I recently acquired a beautiful TMC GPT-750D-2 transmitter. The rig is complete, with the sole exception of one removable panel located in the power supply drawer that is missing.
The missing panel in the power supply unit is the removable aluminum cover that is located directly behind the front panel, and this panel covers the tube sub-chassis located directly behind the front panel. It is held in place by three (3) Dzus fasteners, and it is about 20" long and about 7" wide.
I am fairly certain that no one has this part as a spare panel, but I was wondering if a member of this group would be kind enough to lend me their panel, so I could use it as a pattern for the fabrication of an exact replacement. There is a precision sheetmetal shop locally that I use for these purposes, and with great success. I would be more than happy to leave a deposit with you while your panel is in my possession, and the turn-around time for me to have the replacement panel fabricated is about 4 weeks. I'll pay shipping and insurance costs both ways.
If any others are missing this panel in their GPT-750, I could furnish an exact reproduction at my actual cost, assuming of course, I can obtain an original panel for use as the pattern.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to restore this beauty to as-built condition, just like it left Mamaroneck 45 years ago!
Thanks & 73,
Bruce, W2XR
