Gentlemen,

I have professionally reproduced (12) each of the original metal ID plate for the power supply unit for the TMC SBE-series of SSB exciters. This reproduction is for the commercial (i.e. non-millitary) version of the power supply unit; the commercial version was nomenclatured as TMC Model No. A-1397.

There is one problem with the A-1397 ID plates: the reproduction firm spelled "Materiel" incorrectly; it is spelled on the plate as "MATERIAL". This is probably a small issue for most users of this equipment, considering the quality of the reproduction is literally indistinguishable from the original. The thru holes line up perfectly with the threaded no. 2 holes on the front panel of the power supply.

You will have to stamp the serial number of your power supply onto the ID plate yourself, or have a local metal fabrication shop do this for you. I understand from John Poulton that MSC Supply provides a kit for doing this yourself.

I also have (12) each of the reproduction ID plates available for the TMC Model GPR-92 Receiver. These plates have the same issue: the supplier spelled "Materiel" incorrectly; it is spelled on the plate as "MATERIAL". You will have to stamp the serial number for your receiver and "92" into the serial and model number areas respectively onto the ID plate yourself. For this ID plate, please also note that the thru holes on the GPR-92 reproduction ID plates are off by a few 1000ths, so you may have to do a little filing to get the holes to line up with those on the front panel of the receiver. Otherwise, like the A-1397 ID plate, the reproduction is absolutely indestinguishable from the original.

The price is $15.00 each for either plate, plus the cost of shipping to your location. Original, pristine condition TMC A-1397 and GPR-92 ID plates were used for the basis of both reproductions.

These ID plates will really dress up the front panel for those units either missing the plate, or in need of a new-appearance ID plate. Once they are sold-off, that will be the end; I will not be having any additional reproductions made of either of these two items.

Best 73,

Bruce, W2XR
