[TMC] TMC Manuals on-line

Folks,

Per Larry G's post last week, I've received and scanned the manuals for the O-330/FR
(the Mil version of the TMC VOX), and they're online at:

http://jptronics.org/radios/TMC/manuals/

I have also scanned and added the manuals for the GPE-1 and GPE-1-A as well. And,
I'll also be adding a thick set of manuals (also provided by Larry) for the TTR-10
SSB transmitter/receiver and friends. That project will take a few days, as the
stack of manuals is more than 1" thick.

If you haven't been to this site, you might explore the rest of it. I have a bunch
of TMC Sales/Service Bulletins scanned and on-line as well, and they're often very
useful for figuring out which piece of the TMC puzzle you're dealing with.

So, this little TMC on-line manual project is turning into a Project. I'm beginning to
think it may be possible to consider the goal of having a fairly comprehensive set
of TMC manuals on-line. Nothing fancy.. just PDF's you can download if you're
desperate for a manual.

To that end: if any of you out there have manuals that you'd be willing to loan
me, I'll scan them and put them on-line (with credit to you, of course!).

There are three ways to do this:

1. Mail me the manual; I'll scan and return to you. I'll pick up the mailing cost,
or if you want to kick in postage one-way, that would be great.
2. Scan the manual yourself, and send me the digital version. I greatly prefer
multi-page PDF's, but can handle other formats with some effort, such as one
JPG file per page, or whatever.
3. (and least preferred), make a very good one-side Xerox copy and mail it to me.

Obviously I'm not in this to make any money.. it's just for fun, and to make as much
data as possible available to the TMC collector community. There are other folks out
there who provide the community a very valuable service by preparing high-quality
copies and selling them. For most of us, either an original manual or a good hard
copy is greatly preferable to downloading and printing a scan...

Any suggestions you might have on how (or whether) to proceed from here are welcome.

One manual I'd love to have on-line: the SBT-1K and/or PAL-1K. Anyone..?

73, John K4OZY
