TMC-ers,

After much soul-searching I've decided to sell my SBT-1K, serial # 231,
and I'm offering it to the list before posting it on EBAY.

The unit is a "J" model, so really not much more than a PAL-1K, though
in its original TMC rack cabinet. Besides the amp and power supplies, it
has the much-sought-after cross-needle SWR meter. There are pix at:

http://www.jptronics.org/pix/tmc.sbt_1k/

Pix are about 1.5-2 MB each, so be patient.

The transmitter is generally in good condition, though never powered up
(by me). There are some condition issues:

1. The amp's loading control has had it's crank handle broken off. It'll
    need to be replaced.
2. The amp's top and bottom covers appear to be hand-made, though
    they're reasonably well done.
3. An "after-market" power box has been added inside the rear cover.
    Easy enough to remove..
4. Usual paint scuffs (panels, cabinet, and on the x-needle meter).
5. Cabinet has an extra hole or two for power cable entrance.

The unit contains:

IM-166/FRT Indicator, SWR, Serial # 19
RFD-1 Amplifier, Serial #134
PS-4A LV Power Supply, Serial # 297
PS-5 HV Power Supply, Serial # 276
Cabinet, Serial # 231

Asking $2,100(*), pickup ONLY in Chapel Hill, NC, or.. might be able to
work out delivery to Dayton Hamvention. If a member of this list takes
it at the asking price, I'll throw in a spare (used) 8295/PL-172 PA tube.

73, John K4OZY

(*) Rationale: PAL-1K's are going for between $1700-2000, and SWR indicators
for about $475-550 on ebay.
