If the certificates are not cancelled, they likely have some significant 
value.  The company is still in business.  They (or any competent brokerage 
firm) could tell you what the present value is, accounting for any splits 
or other events affecting the price of the shares.

If the certificates have been cancelled, they may be worth from $5 to $15 
each.  There is a market for cancelled stock certificates like there is for 
stamps.  I have a Collins certificate I paid less than $10 for.  It will 
get framed and hung in the shack near the Gold Dust Twins.   I'd be happy 
to buy a TMC cancelled certificate for about the same amount.  That would 
get framed and hung in the shack near my TMC GPT-750.
