Pulled the SBE-3 out of the SBT rack this morning figuring i'd go thru
it and test tubes etc. Looks like i'm going to need a manual for the
SBE-3. There is a different layout of the tubes and less of them in the
-3 than there are in the SBE-2. Different tube numbering as well.
So far, takes 1.5V of drive from the sig gen to get any kind of a bump
in the MF tuning at all. Time to dig in.
The panel with the fan as i talked about in an earlier post looks
factory. It is a half panel and only covers the back of the unit and
not the complete "L" shaped panel that covers the top and back. Has the
dzus fasteners so looks factory.
On another note, I was digging thru one of my boxes of cables this
morning for some reason, forgot why now with all the excitement, and
found a connector and some wire that sure looked familiar. Whatcha
know. It's an AN-3108-20-27S and fits into the back of the SBE for one
end of the cable that goes to the power supply. So it appears that
there is an alternative to the MS-3106B-20-27S. This particular unit
had a 90 degree elbow on it but that doesn't hamper it's use in this
application. I wonder if maybe an AN-3108-20-27P wouldn't replace the
other end which is an MS-3106B-20-27P. Keep the eyes open guys.
But first of all, can someone supply me with an SBE-3 manual?
Thanks
larry
