This is prompted by several recent posts to various of these lists. I'll
probably get two or three hate emails from that 1% minority of list members
making high five and six figure 21st Century salaries who hate eBay because they
think they should still be able to buy radios for what they would have paid
45-60 years ago when they were making mid-20th Century salaries. But...
I suggest the following when mentioning an eBay item that might be of general
interest to the subscribers of any of these lists. Just post the item
number, not the URL or link. The various list servers tend to butcher the link
anyway, and if they don't, many email handlers do. 99% of those who would bother
to go and look have eBay's link in their browser's Favorites list. The
default field that comes up on eBay's home page is the simple search field. If you
copy the item number from the incoming email and past it in there, you will
get to the item 100% of the time. And over the long haul, in the minimum number
of mouse clicks.
