Hi,

I recently purchased a used AEA/Timewave PK-232MBX with upgrades. What are
your recommendations on how best to connect this TNC up to my ICOM
IC-706MKIIG?

After reviewing the documentation (Timewave manual, IC-706MKIIG manual and
various how to websites), I learned that there are 3 basic ways to interface
the PK-232MBX with the IC-706MKIIG:

1.	Microphone connection. Use a cable to connect the TNC to the 706's
microphone connector (8-pin modular RJ45) and a audio cable to the external
speaker jack);
Same as above but avoid the separate audio cable by taking the RX audio from
a pin in the RJ45 connector;

2.	ACCessory connection. Use a cable to connect the TNC to the 706's
ACC socket (13-pin);
Same as above but use a second cable to connect the TNC's FSK socket to
other pins in the 706's ACC socket; and

3.	DATA connection. Use a cable to connect the TNC to the 706's DATA
socket (6-pin).

My gut reaction is that the ACCessory connection would be the best way to
connect the TNC and 706. What are your recommendations and why?
