Mike,
I think you are right. I will open it up and see what the story is. Hope
the keypad isn't sealed.....I restore old Collins, Hallicrafters gear so
very familiar with the cleaners.

the reflector......

If you CAN get into it, (I have never seen one) usually, cleaning it with
alcohol and Q-tips restores function. I do this all the time on TV remotes.
Clean both the circuit board and the rubber keypad.
