I'm still here. No forge work for months. Ill in winter and early
spring so the spring, summer and fall were dominated by gradual
recovery and catching up on the firewood project, sawing up and
splitting normally done in miserable weather. Woodshed full and
brought the last load around to the dooryard today. Much-reduced
vegetable gardens were a success despite limited gumpties at
tilling/planting time. A bunch of pickled beets put up, cabbages and
carrots put away for winter.

Pretty much fully recovered now, albeit feeling my age. The only
absolute recovery from being old is unwelcome and unsoughtfor. :-)

Never done any of that. But don't forget Usenet. The original
"social media" antedates the actual internet and is still in wide use
if much reduced in users and traffic.

Check your favored browser to see if it supports net news (NNTP).
Thunderbird and Seamonkey do. Or find a dedicated news reader/client
for your system. Then visit https://www.eternal-september.org/ to see
how to set up a connection. There are other free NNTP providers but
like that one.

Then read or post to rec.crafts.metalworking or
alt.crafts.blacksmithing. The former one is pretty busy but mostly
with guys into machine shop or mechanical work. It deserves some
blacksmithing posts.

alt.crafts.blacksmithing seems to be working but with not much traffic.
Could do with some new conversations.
