Hey Andy, Steve. I miss the .lists too. Facebook stinks but it's where almost everybody is anymore. <sigh> The artmetal.list died quite a while ago. I think Theforge is the last one up. Even the fora are fading out, I think Anvilfire is just the archives since Josh passed and Iforgeiron is just a trickle of posts since Glenn passed. 

It reminds me of a morning having coffee in the local coffee shop with the guys. One of them asked "Where are all the old timers?" There were maybe 6 of us at the counter and we all looked around and Mike Palmquist says, "We ARE the old timers." It was a sobering morning. Mike passed maybe 3 years later while selling all his stuff. Not at the sale / auction but during.

Some of us are still here — always good to hear from my fellow smiths.  Just to add to the exchange, I needed to renew the clutch on my 50 Lb'er Little Giant (old style that Fred Caylor sold me back in the mists of time ~ 1991) - with the help of the guys in Nebraska, it's done.  Buying the DVD's was a GOOD idea (though seeing someone lifting the pulley unit manually while I had to use a chain-fall was a good hint about the difference between 25lb & 50 Lb — and I don't even want to think about working on a 100lb unit) - Steve

Here's hoping all are well.

I sure do miss both theforge and the knife-list.  It was so much better
than anti-social media.
