I might pick one up to see. Detective, Crime and especially political aren't really my genre but a good story well written is worth reading. I like Kathy Reichs novels unless one get too romance novelly. I do like a good mystery and she is writing about cases she's investigated, literally I enjoy the scientific aspects. The author playing fair so the reader has a chance to figure it out before the reveal is a thing for me. Of course a good twist is de BOMB. I read everything though don't repeat some. Heck, I read so much I can't keep who wrote, who what where and why straight in my memory. A number of excellent sci fi authors specialize in crime, detective and such. Can't think of even one though. <sigh>
n a humorous note, when I opened your email my first glance at your sign off struck me as saying, 'Anchor, Blacksmith, Author.' It only lasted a split second but thought the irony was funny. I tend to read short sentences and paragraphs in blocks rather than words in a sentences. It leads to second takes pretty frequently which sometimes lead my imagination down interesting trails. I've written a few stories based on that kind of thing.
I see the temp is coming up from 1f at sunrise to a current 18, guess I'd better do some stuff while it's reasonably warm.
Later, Jer

Sorry, no sci-fi. The most recent Crows of Monserrata has a folklore mystic about it, but it is corruption, deceit, and murder. An earlier one All Debts Come Due has a visions component. Mostly I write crime novels.
