[TheForge] Conveyor belts

I've had decent luck at the local rubber supply, Alaska Rubber, they handle most everything made of or with rubber and they do installations so they sometimes have rems.

When I set up my 50lb. LG none was available so I bolted it to 6" x 12" timbers and it rides nicely steady without being bolted down. It's pinned in position but not solidly. I made a 2" x 6" sq tubing pin welded to 2x2 angle iron. It screws to the wood base and fits into a gozinta in the floor. It keeps the hammer where it's supposed to be and it only vibrates on the floor. 

It also raises my hammer to a more comfortable working height making keeping the work parallel with the die faces WAY easier than having them mid thigh high.

Of course that's just me.

Horse mats?  I lucked out years ago and got a large conveyor belt -- ~2 ft wide x 1/2" thick -- used under my 50 and still working after 30+ years as well as fatigue maps in the metal & wood shop as well as platen covers for the 2x72 grinder face (with graphite cover glued on).  Steve
