[TheForge] What is everyone working on?

 I have looked for an answer to this problem for years.  There are several tapes that I have tried that do ok if I am not pushing the belt, but they all fail as soon as any heat builds up in the belt.  Researching this, I have been told that the belt manufacturers use special glues/tapes from 3m and the like that are shipped at extremely low temps and must be temp controlled throughout the process. As a result they do not sell and there are no resellers of these products for the general public.  I have a bunch of failed belts that I was planning to try to use fiberglass tape and a flexible epoxy on next.   If the belt is long enough >72" that heat does not build up, there are several high stick packing tapes that will do ok, I will look for the name of the last one I used.  For a hand held belt sander though, I have found no good answer, like Stephen, I use the failed belts for hand sanding.

Given the last two years I am interested in knowing what others are working on.

I am fixing the propane lines on my 4 burner ron-reil forge.
Speaking of Ron, has anyone heard from him or of him?

need to refill the oxygen, acetylene, and argon cylinders.

need to do sheetmetal work and repair on the truck.

just wanting to reconnect with everyone.
