Hello sleepy group. Hope that everyone is well.
2 things: #1. edit all of the "to" and "from" B.S. from your chain of
posts. The computer generated stuff that follows each post. The robot that
runs TheForge will love you for it.
#2. addressing Bruce's problem. Here is how to get a perfect copy of the
valve handle stem.
Get some soft modeling clay or soft modeling wax. Get some WD-40. clean the
area that you want to reproduce. spray the WD-40 all over it then wipe most
of the WD-40 off, leaving a very thin coating of the stuff. It is to keep
the soft modeling media from sticking to the valve parts.
press the modeling media down over the subject area, nice and firm. try to
fill the whole void.
Gently remove the modeling media and you should have a perfect
negative reproduction of the area in question. Pour some Plaster of Paris
(or whatever) into the negative void in the model. Let it dry and harden.
Gently separate the two and you should have an acurite model of valve
handle stem that you can measure and do whatever you want to do for a
handle.
Please stay hydrated and out of the sun. It's 11 pm here and 76 degrees
outside.Over 100 degrees during most of the day...
