Hello Everyone;
I am still alive. In chemotherapy round 4.
Chemotherapy has been kicking my butt.
Despite being fatigued from the chemo i am trying to do somethingss.
I received a bunch of craft kits from Help Heal Veterans and have been
building bird feeders, bird houses, small tool boxes, etc.
Good Friday and Easter are approaching and Illinois is still in lockdown
concerning any church services. The church is looking at outside
services in the parking lot. the concern is the weather. How do people
stay warm enough? One solution would be a hanging firepit. Do not want
to melt the new tar in the parking lot. needs to be simple enough that
someone with no metal working experiece would be able to put it
together. My design is using threaded black pipe schedule 40. The
problem is the connector where the three legs need to join together. I
am stuck here. Chemotherapy plays with your mind so I am not at my best
game. I am open to suggestions and any help that anyone may have. the
youth pastor figures the youth could build a dozen of these. the hanging
pot would be dutch ovens from the local thrift store.
The other idea is build a stand for 55 gallon drums and cut the drums in
half. keep the drum off the parking lot and build the fire in the drum.
The trustees of the church really do not want the new resurfaced parking
lot melted or damaged, so they are shying away from the 55 gallon drum
idea. THe stand could be just cement blocks stacked up to keep the drum
away from the resurfaced parking lot.
basically, just trying to keep the people warm during the outdoors
services on Good Friday and Easter. Any and all ideas welcomed.
