Actually it's NOT routine to delete the end matter. Gmail, in particular,
makes it worse by hiding it by default. Instead, it shows an icon with an
ellipsis "..." near the bottom.
I've just looked it up and if you hit the down arrow until that ellipsis
icon is highlighted, you can delete all the previous material by hitting
the backspace key. It works. (Those not using Gmail will have to inquire
on their own.)
