What's the group??? ...
Without planning for it, at start of winter ended up in DFW (left here in '75, no intent to come back, tech company I worked for cratered and but couldn’t afford Austin any longer) and now waiting out CV18 and looking for new future support systems. At present all heavy metal tools stashed in Austin, building & mechanics tools outside of FW along with my wrecked HD (Custom '90 FLST, first HD was a basket case '72CLCH I rebuilt from ground up back in mid 70's)). Soon as pandemic passes, can replace employment, plan on getting the HD back on road ASAP.
Metal-Arts certificate from ACC, have my grandfather anvils and many of his tools, worked in several forges, worked in a sword factory, pounded armour for the Cimmerian's, studied with the local Amish communities (iron working, timber framing, carpentry .. worked for WETA on LOTR II/II (and did extra work), had a backyard forge / bronze foundry for 20+ years (until neighborhood was Californicated out from under me), dedicated one bedroom to my jewelry // platework, 2nd extra for my wood working ....
Basically, love having tools in my hands making things ....

Subject: Re: [TheForge] Virtual meetings
My local metal working group in DFW has been using Skype to host our monthly meeting. Not much blacksmithing content, but It has been pretty successful. I am all for the first inaugural theForge live meeting after more than two decades, but there are some issues with zoom I have heard with regard to managing and keeping out people who like the disrupt these things. That is why our local group is doing Skype, so that each person is invited to the meeting rather than joining an open url.
