Great news about decontaminating masks.
I have been irritated from the start of all this. Clearly, the public
should not hoard N-95 masks the medical profession needs, but where the
hell did the advice come from that we *shouldn't wear *masks.
My girlfriend and I have been using homemade masks for over a week now and
will continue doing so. The efficacy of these things is not equal to N-95,
but I figure they're better than nothing.
Combined with a plastic face shield, a broad-brimmed hat and a light
raincoat, I figure I'm safe from immediate contamination from coughs or
sneezes. I make no pretense that this paraphernalia is bullet-proof
against the virus.
