Being sensitive to copper isn't unusual, lots of people are. My older sister can't wear metal at all, even gold, stainless of any type is out. Copper that requires strength is typically alloyed with beryllium which makes it toxic in the extreme, do NOT grind, melt or weld copper busses. I don't know about house wire though, might be worth looking into.

Frosty.

Last spring or summer I made myself a copper bracelet out of electrical wire (braided, etc. I usually have an abundance of scrap Cu wire from wiring houses.

it looked pretty neat) and I wore it for a week or so, then I developed a rash. Stopped wearing and rash went away.

Unsure if electrical wire contains something other than elemental Cu or not??

Year ago I made silver and ethnic jewelry and found some women were allergic to anything but pure gold or stainless steel in their ears. I bought and used Stainless findings w/ no problems reported.
