[TheForge] Brainstorm -- any underutilized mobile homes out there?

I heard there is a reasonably reliable rapid as in under 10 minutes, antigen
test being distributed, production rates will come up soon.

I think it's a good suggestion Bruce. Hotels are letting hospital and EMS
personnel free rooms. I don't imagine suggesting private citizens can offer
the loan of unused RVs for the purpose is unreasonable.

These folks are laying their lives on the line to help everybody, anything
we can do to help keep their families safe is a good thing.

Does anybody here know how to make the suggestion? Maybe call a local radio
station? Maybe network news HQ?

Good thinking Bruce. (;

Subject: [TheForge] Brainstorm -- any underutilized mobile homes out there?

NJ is one of the states more heavily affected by COVID-19. My girlfriend
went to the ER with possible symptoms, but was discharged (feeling quite a
bit better) with medications. She WAS told to self-quarantine for 2 weeks
(which means me, too) because some of her symptoms are consistent with
COVID-19. (If we had antigen TESTS, we'd know! Thankyouverymuch CDC!)

However, that's incidental to my reasoning for posting.

Driving up to the hospital to pick her up, I noticed two or three various
camper vans/Winnebagoes set up on the outskirts of the hospital parking lot.
I didn't inquire, but it seems obvious to me that some medical staff
probably brought them so they wouldn't have to go home to their families --
risking infecting the -- between shifts.

So here's my thought: I'll bet there are a lot of such "mobile homes" out
there underutilized. Maybe they could be loaned to hospitals as crash pads
for the medical staff. There certainly are lots of good reasons NOT to do
this, but maybe some owners will decide the reasons TO do it outweigh those.

I lack such a vehicle of my own, so cannot offer my own. Sorry to come
across as volunteering other people's stuff, but nobody is obligated and
some might simply not have thought of it.
