Yes, the cardiologist mentioned that "hole in the heart" possibility and
they looked for it, first by echocardiogram, then by TEE (echocardiogram
from a probe in the esophagus). Her heart was fine, with no plaques.
Unfortunately, they still don't know the ultimate cause of the stroke.
