[TheForge] Denial won't work -- call 911 if you have symptoms...

No wonder you're a little bent Jennifer. Did you spend time in a hyperbaric
chamber? DCS is one of the reasons submariners are called bubble heads.
I have to wonder how many of the IFI gang are brain injury survivors, seems
whenever the subject comes up another person tells a story. I did a lot of
reading learning to cope with the TBI and have to say DCS is the worst. My
injury was to the right hemisphere including optic and aural nerves but was
localized. DCS is everywhere, muscles, joints, nerves, eyeballs, everything
with circulating blood. You're a lucky lady Jennifer, maybe we should add
that to your webhandle on IFI?
That's good news Bruce, she'll recover much faster at home. Sounds like she
got off pretty well even with the long delay of treatment. They're learning
and developing new treatments and drugs so fast you can't keep up. You do
know her risk for another stroke has increased. Yes? Keep pretty close watch
for a while anyway, risk for recurrence will diminish as time passes and she
heals but it'll be increased some regardless.
Jer, AKA Frosty The Lucky.

I had a bad type 2 dcs hit which is basically a stroke created by a bubble..
My left side was/is affected and I had to do a lot of facial exercises to
get things somewhat even.. my whole left side still droops but it's not
that noticeable by most because of the extensive rehab I put myself
through..
This happened when I was 35... physical therapy will help a bunch and also
the desire to be/make better.. there will always be damage but for myself
I dont let it stand in my way..
